Kahramanmaraş is one of the cities with the highest workforce and production capacity in the gold and jewellery sector in Turkey and is increasing its capacity in this field. 

The EU funded project “Technical Assistance Kahramanmaraş Gold and Jewellery Centre” implemented by Eurecna spa has assisted the establishment of the Gemmology Laboratory and Assay House which will determine the classification of precious stones and gold carats.

The launch event of the centre, taken place on March 25 2022, has witnessed the participation of the Minister of Industry and Technology Mustafa VARANK and the Head of the European Union Delegation to Turkey Ambassador Nikolaus MEYER-LANDRUT.
