Eurecna won a project funded by the African Development Bank to support the Lesotho Chamber of Commerce and Industry within the framework of the Economic Diversification Support Project, and more specifically to support business associations in enterprise development.
The Economic Diversification Support Project[nbsp]supports the improvement of small, micro and medium enterpises (SMMEs) policy framework as a key element of the Lesotho’s national development strategy, which points towards a more diversified and competitive economy. The main points proposed are stronger entrepreneurship, skills development, access to finance and market, and investment promotion in sectors that are critical for the country’s economic diversification.
The specific assigment that will be implemented by Eurecna on Enterprise Development will see our Technical Assistance Team work directly with private sector organisations and business associations to reinforce their capacity to provide SMMEs with effective Business Development Services, and their ability to advocate for the interests and needs of Basotho entrepreneurs. Overall, private sector organisations will be assissed to positively influence the government policy for the private SMME sector.
The project, which officially started in December 2018 and is already under implementation, will last for 2 years.
