On 29 May 2018, in the framework of the project “Technical Assistance for the implementation of a Farm Advisory System (FAS) in Turkey”, Eurecna supported the organization of the Steering Committee (SC) Meeting, held in Ankara.
The SC Meeting was hosted in the premises of the Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Livestock and was opened by Mr. Muhsin Yazıcı, Deputy GD of Agriculture Reform, who welcomed the participants and gave the floor to Mr. Kemal Sandik, Deputy TL.
Mr. Sandik described the activities implemented in the first semester of the project, highlighting the successful organization of two study visits to a Polish and a Romanian FAS.
The next interim period will focus on the organization of three additional study visits (to France, Italy and Spain) and on the provision of trainings to 600 farmers, advisors and NGOs, covering all Turkish provinces, on FAS mechanism.
The Committee highlighted that project sustainability shall be ensured and that close cooperation between technical assistance and Departments within the Ministry is implemented for optimal transfer of knowledge and project ownership.
