Eurecna organized the opening ceremony of the EU-funded project “Technical Assistance for the implementation of a Farm Advisory System (FAS) in Turkey” on January, 31st in Ankara.
The event aimed at highlighting the of the establishment of FAS in the Turkish agricultural economy and system and to describe how the project will be implemented. The event was opened by Dr Hakan Velioğlu – Head of IACS Department of the Ministry of Agriculture (MoFAL), and hosted the speech of Sürur Kir – Head of Publication and Promotion Department of MoFAL; Muhsin Yazıkı – Deputy Director General of MoFAL, Emin Izol – General Director of Agricultural reform of MoFAL.  Finally, there was also an opening speech held by the Head of Trade and Other EU Policies Section of the EU Delegation in Turkey Mr Balázs Gargya and of Eurecna Project Manager Serena Francovig.
The second part of the event was opened by Henry Joergensen, Team Leader of FAS project, with a presentation on the importance of FAS and other experiences in European countries and closed by the Deputy Team Leader Dr. Kemal Sandık, whose presentation focused on the Implementation of FAS Project and the contributions of NGOs.
Next project appointment will be on the 26th and 27th of February with the organization of a Seminar on EU practices on developing, implementing, monitoring and evaluating the FAS, cross compliance rules and GAEC standards.
