Eurecna organized the final event of the EU-funded project “Technical Assistance (Institutional Building) for Winter Tourism Corridor in Erzurum, Erzincan and Kars” in conjunction with the International Winter and Mountain Tourism Congress on 15-17 November 2017 in Erzurum.
The event aimed at highlighting the importance for tourism of the historical and cultural legacy of winter and mountain tourism, focusing on both their aspects and discussing the role of tourism policies and strategies in the preservation and management of mountain assets. The positive contribution of winter tourism to the sustainable and responsible growth of territories was highlighted. The event aimed also at enriching the dialogue between academic community (e.g. faculty, young researchers and students), policy makers, public and private investors, professionals linked to organizations, entities, companies and associations working in the field of tourism at different levels.
The event was opened by Mr. Francesco Comotti, Team Leader of WTC project, and by representatives of local municipalities and province, as well as by representatives of Ministry of Tourism, while Mr. Alex Andreis, Brand and Marketing Key Expert, gave a presentation on top travel trends.
Discussions on topics such as skipass management, demand of wellness and healthy touristic proposals, and management of sports events were in the agenda. The TA project managed to improve business environment and quality of life through the improvement of physical skiing infrastructures and contributed to better organized and focused tourism sector by means of marketing and promotion strategies.
Participants and speakers came from Turkey, Italy, Austria, Slovenia, Spain, Iran, Russia, Azerbaijan, Bulgaria and China.
