On Monday 27 July 2015, the final event of the “EU Capacity Building Programme to the Ministry of National Economy (MoNE)” took place in the conference room of MoNE.
Dr. Taiseer Amre, Deputy MoNE Minister, welcomed the participants and praised the outcomes of the 2-year project, which has been one of the most successful so far.
Mr. David Geer, Deputy Head of EU Delegation, thanked Dr. Amre for the fruitful cooperation and highlighted the importance of sustainability of the achievements which is possible thanks to the transfer of knowledge to the Ministry staff who benefited from the project.
Ms. Clara Beffa, Project Manager representing the implementing consortium led by Eurecna, was pleased to acknowledge that the project outcomes have been fully delivered and announced that Eurecna and Benà offered to support MoNE and pay for its ISO 9001:2008 certification, which takes place on 28, 29 and 30 July 2015. ISO certification is a major additional achievement to the original contract and good evidence of the sustainability of the project in MoNE.
Mr. Aitkenhead, Team Leader, and Ms. Janet Kyle, Senior Short Term Expert, summarized the activities implemented since July 2013, highlighting the fact that TA was welcomed by MoNE staff who participated in the trainings and coaching sessions.
Mr. Jehad Atyani, Key Expert on quality, contratulated MoNE internal auditors who received their ISO 9001:2008 certificates: they will be responsible for MoNE quality procedures and standards in the years to come.
Dr. Amre and Mr. Geer closed the event by reinforcing the strong cooperation between EU and Palestine aimed at supporting Palestinian people in the development of a competitive and sustainable economic and social environment.
