Renewable Energy

Sustainable development: we do.

The Eurecna's Renewable Energy Unit is operating in an advisory capacity for a wide range of renewable energy technologies and is directly investing in the fields of wind power, cogeneration from solid biomass, production of liquid biomass, SHPP and waste-to-energy.

We are currently managing a pipeline of renewable energy projects for an overall capacity of over 300 MW in Italy and almost 600 MW overseas – most of them in Romania – including the development of CDM projects in Macedonia, Montenegro and Morocco, two of which have already reached the validation phase.

Our Renewable Energy Unit carries out – or supervises – all stages of the project lifecycle, including:

  • Identification, selection and characterization of suitable sites.
  • Measurements of physical indicators (wind speed, river flows, etc.) with certified instruments.
  • Selection of appropriate technologies for a wide spectrum of renewable energy projects.
  • Cost-benefit analyses.
  • Environmental Impact Assessment.
  • Analyses of national energy policies and grid capacity absorption.
  • Financial planning and structuring of project finance agreements.
  • Preparation of PDD's for CDM initiatives and advice on carbon trade financing.
  • Project definition, feasibility and preparation of executive drawings.
  • Procedures for obtaining the full set of licenses and permits.
  • Turkney installation and commissioning.
  • Facilities operation and maintenance.

Eurecna can boast substantial expertise in conducting investment analysis and business plan review, as well as in supporting the operation of SME credit lines and support schemes for energy efficiency. Being the international know-how transfer arm of the leading Federation of industrial SMEs in Italy, Eurecna can draw from the experience of a network of more than 1,000 Enterprise Support Centres and several Credit, Guarantee and Investment Facilities in Italy, with an aggregate portfolio of 400 m€ of loans disbursed or guaranteed.
